We’ve appointed a Production Development Manager to help boost future growth!
We’ve appointed David Williams as our new Production Development Manager as part of our company’s continued investment in future growth, innovation and horticultural excellence (October 2026).
The newly created senior leadership role will support our growing operations, sustainable production techniques and long-term development as customer and market needs continue to evolve.
Growing operations
Andy Johnson, our Managing Director, explains:
“This new appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to developing the business, enhancing our growing operations and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers. It will also allow me to spend more time working alongside our sales, trading and despatch teams as we move the business forward.”
David will report directly to Andy and work alongside the heads of all divisions to identify technical challenges and opportunities across production, helping to evolve growing techniques and plant ranges in response to climate change and changing market demands.
Forefront of production
The role has been created to strengthen collaboration across our growing departments, support specialist production teams and ensure we remain at the forefront of production and service excellence.
David joins us from Frank P Matthews, where he was Container Unit Manager. His horticultural career has also included roles with Dingle Nurseries, Deepdale Trees and Lambs Flowers, building extensive experience across field production, container-grown stock, semi-mature trees and large-scale crop production.

Originally from Berriew and now living in Highley, David studied at Welshpool High School and Walford and North Shropshire College. He is engaged to be married next year and recently became a father.
